Ashleigh Hillen (Bow) is a visual artist and entomologist currently residing in NYC

They split their time between the New York Academy of Art, where they are currently working on their MFA in painting, and the American Museum of Natural History where they work as a research assistant in the department of Invertebrate Zoology. You can sometimes find them at the Brooklyn Botanic garden where they teach continuing education and spend their free time painting from life.

While heavily inspired by their background in the natural sciences, Ashleigh’s work explores centering joy while living with complex PTSD.
